A Few Things We Love About Demarest
Demarest is named for the Demarest family and for the train station, which honored railroad director Ralph S. Demarest. The Demarest Railroad Depot stopped carrying passengers in 1966. The borough bought it in 1978, restored it, and it’s been on the National Register of Historic Places since 2004. Local groups now use it for community events. Demarest’s volunteer fire department dates to 1894, and the ambulance corps to 1961. It’s a town that looks after its own.
It’s a community with deep roots and a strong sense of home. We think a personalized stork on the front lawn fits right in.
